ACADEMIC
PERFORMANCE - 2008 results & initiatives
NAPLAN
(National literacy and numeracy testing) results 2008:
Initial
analysis of this national testing is extremely positive.
In
Year 3 literacy, 92% of our students were in the top three bands
compared to 76% of the state and in numeracy, 86% of students were
in the top three bands compared to 67%of the state.
In
Year 5 literacy, 98% of students were in the top three bands compared
to 63% of the state and in numeracy, 85% of students were in the
top three bands compared to 52% of the state.
Growth
from Year 3 to Year 5 across all literacy areas is very impressive
with all growth being above the region. Overall literacy growth
is exceptional being the highest of all schools in our school education
group. Maths growth is, however, below the region and this will
be a target area for the coming year.
A
link to a powerpoint presentation is provided here
if parents want an explanation on how to read the results.
