West Pymble Band Program

The 2008 Band Program consists of three bands: Senior Band, Training Band and the Intermediate Band. The Senior Band has 16 members and rehearses twice a week on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings. The Intermediate Band has 25 members and rehearses on Thursday mornings. The Training Band is for students in Year 3 and upwards who have never played an instrument before. It consists of 29 members who are tutored in a small-group situation once a week (on Wednesday mornings) and come together as a band with increasing frequency throughout the year. The Senior and Intermediate Bands will once again compete at the Yamaha Festival in June.

All bands will participate in a Band Camp at Camp Kedron in June. They will receive two days of intensive instruction in small groups and as a whole band. The camp will culminate in a concert for parents.

The bands will perform at many events throughout the year including: assemblies, a Senior's Luncheon, Open Day, the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and on Presentation Night.
